What is it?
QUAD Business Builder is a suite of quick and easy-to-use cash-focused diagnostic and financial modelling software that helps build better businesses through better-informed decision-making.

The software comprises a selection of stand-alone Excel applications that complement the particular vocabulary and drivers of four different business activities:-

• 'Service Provision'
• 'Manufacturing & Processing'
• 'Retail & Wholesale Distribution'
• 'Hospitality & the Licensed Trade'

Selecting the most appropriate model ensures the software's total compatibility with the business process.

The software - which is completely intuitive and requires no specialist skills or abilities - is sold under an annual licence for a fee determined by the number of models required and the number of named individuals who wish to use them.

What it does
QUAD Business Builder creates a virtual model of a business that prioritises its KPIs and provides an interactive platform to explore the financial impact and implications of infinite 'What if..?' scenarios.

The software - which is multi-currency - is unaffected by the size, maturity or status of the business and is equally effective with start-ups as it is with established businesses.

The models can be loaded with input data extracted from any (or all) of three different sources:-

• Accounts (Statutory or Management)
• Business Plans
• Thoughts and ideas

The input data (which typically takes less than 10 minutes to load) is processed to identify the 'Key Performance Indicators' - a unique and frequently illuminating ranking of the key business drivers according to their leverage on cash-flow.

The inputs are also used to build the 'Core Diagnostic Review' - a powerful but completely intuitive 'What if..?' tool that lets the user explore different commercial scenarios and see, instantly, their impact on Cash-Flow, Margins, Profitability, Breakevens and other key business ratios.

Two of these ratios are unique to QUAD Business Builder:-

• 'Cash Efficiency' shows the percentage of additional turnover that would remain in the business bank account.
• 'Cost of Working Capital' shows the percentage of additional turnover that would be required to fund associated changes in Working Capital.

Viewed in conjunction with Gross Profit (which shows the percentage of additional turnover that would drop straight to the bottom-line to increase profits or reduce losses), these new indices provide an intriguing insight into the financial dynamics of the business and give a completely fresh perspective on the optimisation of the quality (rather than the quantity) of sales revenues.

The Core Diagnostic Review is also the gateway into QUAD's 'Advanced Diagnostics' which introduce five additional features:-

The software maintains real-time Financial Projections and graphics reflecting the current scenario in the Diagnostic Review, along with an 'Added-Value Summary' that provides an unambiguous statement showing the opening position from the source-data, the changes that have been made, and what it all means in terms of added-value impact on the business.
